CCPA Compliance Whirlwind Continues

Proposed Regulations modifications are released

While the struggle of getting ready for the CCPA continues, the media has reported mixed results of organizations responding to Consumer Rights requests. Reportedly, some organizations are responding with too much information and some with too little. Some are just missing the mark.
Today, the California Attorney General’s office released its Modifications to Text of Proposed Regulations, which the original draft was released late last year. Understandably, many organizations looked to the original version for guidance, but didn’t want to cement their practices knowing changes were forthcoming.

Changes are a plenty; but still not final
In a quick review of the regulations, some pages have as much red ink, as they do black ink. I’ll be diving into these over the next few days so I can assist my clients in their CCPA practices.  Keep in mind, these are not final and comments to these proposed changes are being accepted from Feb. 7 through February 24, 2020 at 5pm.
